That's right! After 17 years we have decided to get married and we're hoping you'll be able to join us on the day.

There are a few things we thought you might like to know .....

The venue

We are having the ceremony in our neighbours' garden. The plan is for the whole day/evening to be outdoors. So you might want to think about packing a cardie and shoes for walking on grass. If it really tips it down, we'll move indoors...but we're not planning to.

We've invited you to join us from 2.30. That's so you can have a tiddle and a drink after your journey, but the ceremony doesn't start until 3.45pm. Food will be served about 5.30.

Getting to us

Our nearest train station is Diss (1hr30 from London). And we're about a 15 minute taxi ride from there.

The house is fairly easy to find as it's opposite Thornham Parva church (this is where you can park). If you get lost when you're close-ish just ask for Kev and Judy O'Keefe's house, or where Django -the world's most unusual dog- lives.  If you're approaching from the A140 our road has the Auberge on the corner, opposite the turning for Eye.

Make a weekend of it

We appreciate that most of you are coming from quite a distance. Why not make a weekend of it and see some of the area we love?

The nearest hotel/B&Bs are:

Broome Grange Best WesternThe Four Horseshoes (pub with rooms)The White HorseThe Oaksmere, or splash out at Thornham Hall. There are loads of other holiday cottages and places to stay slightly further afield.

There is a campsite in the next village (with good facilities). Or you can camp in our garden (if you don't need a shower).

A short walk from us is Thornham Walks which is quite a large park of woods, paved bits, den-making areas, playground and two cafes.

Our nearest town is Eye which is pretty, but a car journey away, and has a mini supermarket, bakers, cash point, deli, antiques shop and - weirdly, considering all the things it doesn't have - a chocolaterie. There are no shops within walking distance of us so if you need anything you're best to get it en route or call in to Diss or Stowmarket. Also you're unlikely to have mobile reception anywhere within miles of us. But saying all that, we like it!

Let me know what you choose to do nearer the time and we can look at arranging lifts home from the venue so you can have a drink.

Photos

We are not having a photographer on the day, although we hear that Tom can take a decent picture or two. We are asking you to take snaps to record your day and share them with us. We'll send a reminder after but please email them to wedding@askresearch.org.uk

Wedding gifts

We really don't need you to get us anything, so we have not set up a wedding list. However, if you would like to, we would be very happy to receive a small personal gift or a John Lewis voucher (I have my eye on a sofa and they are never knowingly undersold).

We are really looking forward to it

We can't wait and really hope that you'll be able to join us. Let us know, or ask us any questions, at wedding@askresearch.org.uk

Look forward to seeing you on the weekend of the 3rd,

Steve & Amy xxx
